Calm, quiet, exacting and focused. Toshi Kawano puts his knowledge and skill to work in every photo.
Born in Japan, Toshi studied Aerospace Engineering in University and worked as a Civil Engineer before discovering his passion for photography. “I used to love drawing and painting when I was young, but I never intended to be an artist, “ states Kawano. His career in photography initially saw him moving back and forth between Japan and Canada working for a variety of publishing companies. In 2000 Toshi moved his business base to Canada and made Whistler, British Columbia his home. Moved to Pemberton in 2004.
“I am most interested in shooting people. Especially people in beautiful settings” says Toshi. The Pemberton Valley has proven to be the ideal spot for Toshi to pursue his passion. Toshi can be found shooting action sports, scenics, weddings, portraits, and events throughout the Sea to Sky Corridor and in Japan. This variety of experience fuels Toshi’s creativity and helps to achieve his goal of capturing and sharing great moments.
